Eric Whitacre *drrrrooooool*

Mmmm.. last night TYWO hosted a concert at the Toronto Centre for the Arts revolving around Mr. Eric Whitacre. The man is a genius. Wrote his first piece at 21? Went to Juliard for music unable to READ music? Genius. And young. And very attractive. And hilarious.

It was absolutely brilliant, everyone played so extremely well. The choirs were gorgeous and I was so proud of my homies at MDHS for their awesomeness. Made me totally miss MDHS music.. as for us, gosh.. it makes such a difference to have Eric conducting us.. Colin's great of course but don't think you've seen passion until you've seen a man conduct his own score. Such an emotional attachment to the music, it was just marvelous. Gideon destroyed his reed on stage, the nightmare of every reed player haha and poor Ian was having wrist issues.. Strahan owned the hell out of his tenor sax solo.

Laura did my makeup in the dressing room (and a small line then formed behind me haha) and we've decided it's going to be our tradition from now on, except next time she'll bring the whole kit and caboodle yeehaw! hehe

It was SO exciting to see all the Markham kids.. and the ex ones like Bryan!!! AND TORIA!!!! *muah* Lots of hugs from Mr. T and Mr. Caswell, I do miss them so. Great teachers.

Afterwards some of us went to the restaurant next door and hung out there for a while then hopped on the subway home.

Good stuff. And guess what? Tomorrow I get my first day off in over a month! LAUNDRY TIME! If I have time.. lol

I know I had more to say, but I suppose I'll have to post again later when I remember because now my friends, after 8 hours of sleep in 48 hours, I am going to have a nap :)

EEEEK! I don't really know who he is but he sounds awesome and gotta love a passionate sexy young conductor.... hhhhhhhhhot. I hope you play me something of his works when your home... or even better a recording of your band playing with him conducting.... or better still bust out your 'net and give me a private performance.

I was down by your rez last night... -not interesting story, but I'll tell you later.
